Family Promise training

By both reading our PowerPoint and signing the Code of Conduct, we can begin the process of on boarding volunteers to the team.

The final step will include a conversation, either in person or via Zoom, Google Meets, or Facetime, with someone from our Leadership Team.

As a volunteer, I will:

- Treat everyone with respect, patience, courtesy, and dignity - Avoid all situations where I am alone with children and/or youth while serving as a volunteer - Be sensitive to the personal space of children and families. Ask permission before touching a guest for any reason. - Use positive reinforcement rather than criticism, competition, or comparison when working with children and families. - Only accept thank you cards or drawings as a gift from Family Promise families. - Report suspected abuse and/or violations to the staff of Family Promise. - Maintain the privacy of all volunteers, clients, guests, residents and donors about whom I have personal or identifying information. - Wear my volunteer name badge, at all times, while volunteering.

Code of Conduct Promise

The families we serve, especially the children, are entrusted to us all during their time at Family Promise. As a volunteer, I promise to strictly follow the rules and guidelines in this Volunteer's Code of Conduct as a condition of my providing services to the families of Family Promise of Greater Phoenix.

As a volunteer, I will not:

- Use, possess, or be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs at any time while volunteering. - Pose a health risk to any children or families (i.e., no fevers or contagious situations). - Strike, spank, shake or slap children and/or youth - Humiliate, ridicule, threaten or degrade parents, children and/or youth. - Touch a child and/or youth in a sexual or other inappropriate manner. - Use any discipline that frightens or humiliates parents, children, and/or youth. - Use profanity - Transport Family Promise families in my personal vehicle. - Give out my personal contact information to Family Promise families. - Develop a personal relationship with Family Promise clients outside of volunteering. - Invite a family to live in my home. - Give a family any gifts, cash or gift cards.

By typing my full name below, I confirm that is equal to my signature on a document, and I acknowledge that I have read and accept the Volunteer Code of Conduct. I understand that any action inconsistent with the Code of Conduct, or failure to act mandated by this Code of Conduct may result in my removal as a volunteer with children and/or youth. I also acknowledge and allow Family Promise to use my image and name for marketing and other purposes.
